I am the lead for Turning Point Scotland’s national Housing First training programme, supporting the learning and development of Practitioners, Managers and partners. Working in partnership with internal, national and European colleagues I am responsible for ensuring that the training is a high standard and promotes up to date Housing First practice from Scotland and Europe. I have a Certificate in Training Practice and I am a European Housing First trainer, in this role I have had the opportunity to deliver training in the UK and Europe.

Areas covered:

  • Developing and Delivering creative and interactive training
  • Embedding the Housing First principles, ethos and values into training
  • Managing the training calendar and supporting the training team

I have been an Administrator for Turning Point Scotland’s Training and Development Department for 14 years. I am responsible for the administration of the national Housing First training programme. I organise training events and communicate with external partners, participants and the Housing First trainers.

Service Manager, Housing First Consortium Glasgow
In January 2013 I joined Turning Point Scotland as a Service Manager of the original Housing First service in Glasgow (the first in the UK). I now manage the Housing First Consortium service, working in partnership with three other social care organisations and a staff team of thirty plus individuals. Recently I completed a Post Grad at the University of Edinburgh, in Homelessness, Inclusion and Health.

  • Involved with the Housing First European Hub and Community of Practice
  • Promote good practice and use of the Housing First Scotland 7 Principles

As the Housing First Development Officer I am responsible for the internal and external development of Housing First provision. I came into post in December 2019 and have been focussing on developing the Housing First Academy website, engaging with aspects of direct service provision and promoting Housing First to the wider community. Having previously been a trainer with Women’s Aid, I am delighted to get the opportunity to join the Housing First training team.

Assistant Service Coordinator, Turning Point Scotland’s Glasgow Housing First Legacy Service
As an Assistant Service Coordinator I assist the Service Manager and Service Coordinator to direct and manage the day-to-day operations within the staff team and to provide direct support to the staff team and service users. I am a European Housing First trainer and I am also involved in the development and delivery of Housing First training in Scotland.

Service Coordinator, Turning Point Scotland Glasgow Housing First Legacy Service
I have worked in homelessness for 20 years in various front line roles. I joined Housing First in 2013 as service coordinator, responsible for day to day running of a busy Housing First service, staff development and leading the team, ensuring the service adheres to the fidelity of the model and 7 principles Housing First. I was also the implementation manager for a new Housing First service. I deliver training by drawing on experience and learning gained from service delivery.
