This half day course is participative and is intended for managers who work in the homelessness sector.
The course aims to be an introduction to Housing First. It will explore the history and context of Housing First and what makes Housing First different to other approaches in Scotland. In addition, the session will discuss potential ways to fund and sustain the approach as well the importance of peer support workers in the delivery of the housing first model.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this half day session you will:
- Identify the 7 principles of Housing First and what skills, knowledge and values are needed; as well as the policies and procedures needed to support the approach
- Explore how to implement the approach including how to set up and agree protocols
- Identify ways to evaluate your approach
- Create an action plan to map your way forward
